The word somatic is defined as: “…of or relating to the physical body“. Somatic movement is any body-centered practice that invites an intentional engagement with your body, breath, and consciousness in a contemplative way. Somatic movement is also sometimes called “conscious movement”. Practices that ignite and fortify the mind-body connection are a kind of meditation in and of themselves. They are a moving meditation, and we believe that movement is medicine.
Through our new Sage Somatics programming, we lead and promote movement of the body in many ways to support the well-being of our community at large. Our group practice offerings include nature and fitness walking, yoga, fascia flossing, moving meditations, dance fitness, and strength training (using bodyweight, HIIT and plyometrics). We move in a wide variety of expressions for all levels of practitioner.
Sage Somatics offers body-based systems for wholeness and health.
