Sage Somatics

The word somatic is defined as: “…of or relating to the physical body“. Through our new Sage Somatics programming, we lead movement of the body and promote the use of established somatic systems to support the well-being of our community at large.

Somatic Movement

Somatic movement is any body-centered practice that invites engagement with your body, breath, and consciousness in an intentional and often contemplative way. Somatic movement is also sometimes called “conscious movement”. Practices that ignite and fortify the mind-body connection are a kind of meditation in and of themselves. They are a moving meditation, and we believe that movement is medicine.

Our group practice offerings include nature and fitness walking, yoga, fascia flossing, moving meditations, dance fitness, and strength training (using bodyweight, HIIT and plyometrics) and the use of smoveyVIBROSWING® rings. We move in a wide variety of expressions for all levels of practitioner.

Somatic Systems

Sage Somatics offers the following body-based systems for wholeness and health.

Somatic Experiencing™ (SE)

SE resolves symptoms of stress, shock, and trauma that accumulate in our bodies. When we are stuck in patterns of fight, flight, or freeze, SE helps us release, recover, and become more resilient. The large majority of people worldwide have traumatic experiences in their lifetime, which can have major impacts on their health and well-being. Rates of trauma exposure are estimated to be anywhere from 60-100% in the general population.

Our lead provider (Cheech) is in her Advanced year of study toward becoming a fully credentialed Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP™). Cheech is available for private SE sessions. Small Group SE sessions can be found on the schedule page and are also available upon request.

Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) Listening Therapy

A listening therapy to unlock your ability to think, feel and connect better through nervous system regulation. The SSP isn’t simply five hours of music — it’s a comprehensive approach to healing. This unique listening therapy is a journey that brings together the client, therapist and the SSP to create a safe space for brain and body integration and healing to achieve impactful, long-lasting results. The SSP may be helpful in reducing symptoms and supporting overall health and resiliency for people seeking support for:

  • Depression and anxiety
  • Neurodevelopmental differences, such as autism, hyperactivity, and attention
  • Learning difficulties
  • Auditory and other sensory processing differences
  • Trauma history
  • Sleep
  • Neurological changes
  • Other challenges related to autonomic dysfunction, such as eating difficulties, gut health, and more

Our lead provider (Cheech) is fully credentialed to deliver the SSP. Cheech is available for private SSP sessions, which are coordinated through a series of consecutive appointments. The SSP is delivered in-office or virtually.
